ATM Routes for Sale in New York, NY
New York City is the densest ATM market in the country and the one where the spreadsheet lies to you most often. ATM Brokerage has brokered routes across the five boroughs and the surrounding New York and New Jersey suburbs since 2012.
Why NYC routes price differently
Everywhere else in America, the expensive part of running a route is driving. In New York it is the commission. A Manhattan or Brooklyn route can have forty machines inside six square miles, so your service cost per stop is the lowest in the country — and then the store owner takes a cut of the surcharge that would be unthinkable in Ohio.
That single line item is what separates a good New York route from a bad one. Two routes with identical gross surcharge revenue can differ by half on net, purely on what was negotiated with the merchants. When we underwrite a New York portfolio, the commission schedule is the first document we ask for, ahead of the processing statements.
Where the machines are
The backbone of any real New York route is bodegas and delis — thousands of them, owner-operated, open late, serving neighborhoods where a meaningful share of households still run on cash. Washington Heights, the South Bronx, Sunset Park, Jackson Heights and East New York carry the kind of per-machine transaction counts that do not exist in most of the country.
Manhattan nightlife and Lower East Side bar placements produce a different pattern entirely: enormous Friday and Saturday volume, thin weekdays, and a location that may change hands or close twice in the life of your contract. Midtown hotel and tourist placements track the convention calendar.
What buyers should check
Turnover is the New York risk. Retail leases end, bodegas sell, and a route that looked stable on three years of trailing numbers can lose eight locations in a year to landlords and rent. Ask how many of the current placements have been in the route for more than five years. That number tells you more about what you are buying than the revenue does.

No New York route on the market right now?
New York is a hard market to start cold and a good one to start small. Most operators here begin with a handful of machines in one neighborhood where they already know the store owners, because a bodega owner in Corona is not signing a placement agreement with somebody who walked in off the street. If you have that relationship, the density means you can service a viable route on foot or with one van.
We sell the hardware as well as broker the routes. ATM machines for sale has current pricing on 17 Genmega, Hyosung, Triton and Puloon models, and the ATM startup guide walks the whole thing from placement agreement to first vault load.
