ATM Routes for Sale in Columbus, OH

Columbus is the steadiest large ATM market in the Midwest, and steady is worth paying for. ATM Brokerage has brokered Ohio routes since 2012.

Three economies that do not move together

Columbus runs on state government, Ohio State, and a very large logistics and warehousing sector out along the Rickenbacker and New Albany corridors. Those three payrolls do not rise and fall together, which is why this metro does not produce the boom-bust transaction patterns you see in tourist or energy markets. Routes here are dull in the way a buyer should want.

The exception is campus. Machines in the High Street bar corridor and the blocks around Ohio State follow the academic calendar hard — enormous September through April, hollow in summer. A route that is campus-weighted needs to be underwritten on its summer floor.

Where the machines are

The base volume comes from independent convenience stores, carryouts and neighborhood markets on the near East and South Sides and along the Cleveland Avenue and Sullivant Avenue corridors. Warehouse-district placements catch shift workers on cash-heavy pay cycles. Short North and Arena District bars carry weekend peaks.

Ohio notes

Ohio is a mature operator market with a lot of long-established independents, which means routes come to market with real history behind them and buyers face real competition for the good ones. It also means the weak routes are usually weak for a reason somebody already identified. Read the location turnover history carefully.

No Columbus route on the market right now?

Columbus is one of the easier metros in the country to place machines cold, largely because it keeps adding population and retail without the operator saturation of Chicago or Philadelphia. The carryouts and independent markets on the near East and South Sides are owner-operated and make decisions on the spot.

We sell the hardware as well as broker the routes. ATM machines for sale has current pricing on 17 Genmega, Hyosung, Triton and Puloon models, and the ATM startup guide walks the whole thing from placement agreement to first vault load.
