ATM Routes for Sale in Chicago, IL
Chicago is one of the markets we transact in most. ATM Brokerage has brokered Chicago-area routes ranging from a ten-machine book at $139,000 to a 241-location portfolio at $1.425 million, along with processing-only routes in the $315,000 range.
A tavern town
Chicago has a bar culture that most American cities lost decades ago — thousands of neighborhood taverns, many of them owner-operated, many of them cash-first. That is the defining feature of the ATM market here and the reason per-machine counts in the right neighborhoods beat cities of similar size.
It also means seasonality. A route weighted toward patio bars and street-festival neighborhoods earns very differently in July than in February, and a seller who brings you trailing twelve-month numbers ending in September is showing you the flattering half of the year. Ask for twenty-four months.
Where the machines are
The South and West Side convenience and liquor corridors carry the steady base volume. North Side and Northwest Side tavern strips carry the weekend peaks. Currency exchanges, a Chicago institution, are direct competition for the same transactions in some neighborhoods and worth mapping before you buy.
The suburbs are a different business again. Route density drops, drive times rise, and the location mix shifts toward gas stations and strip-mall retail with corporate approval chains behind them.
What we see in Chicago files
Chicago routes come to market with cleaner paperwork than most, because the operator community here is mature and many of the sellers are second-generation. The two things that most often need work are hardware age and compliance status, and location agreements that were signed on a handshake and never papered.

No Chicago route on the market right now?
Chicago is one of the better metros in the country to start a route from scratch, for the same reason it is a good one to buy in: the taverns and corner stores are owner-operated, and the owner is usually standing right there. Start on one neighborhood strip rather than across the city, and the servicing stays manageable while you learn what the machines actually do.
We sell the hardware as well as broker the routes. ATM machines for sale has current pricing on 17 Genmega, Hyosung, Triton and Puloon models, and the ATM startup guide walks the whole thing from placement agreement to first vault load.
