ATM Routes for Sale in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte is the second-largest banking center in the United States, which makes it a stranger ATM market than its size suggests. ATM Brokerage has brokered Charlotte portfolios, including one that came to market at $3.495 million.

A well-banked city with underbanked corridors

Uptown Charlotte is dense with bank branches and a workforce that pays for everything by card, and machines placed into that world underperform. Three miles out, along the Central Avenue, Eastway and South Boulevard corridors, the picture inverts completely: immigrant-serving retail, tiendas, halal markets, barbershops and check-cashing-adjacent business where cash is the default.

Charlotte routes live or die on which of those two cities they were built in. When we value a Charlotte book the first thing we do is plot the locations against those corridors, because two routes with the same machine count here can be worth very different money.

Growth is the other variable

The metro has been adding population for two decades and it has not stopped. That is good for placement opportunity and bad for location stability — retail turns over, centers get redeveloped, and a strip that worked for six years gets torn down for apartments. Ask a Charlotte seller how many locations they have lost to redevelopment in the last three years.

Weekend and event volume

NoDa and South End breweries, the Plaza Midwood bar strip, and uptown on Panthers and Hornets game days deliver the weekend and event spikes. Speedway weekends in Concord pull real volume into the northeast side of the metro a few times a year, which is worth knowing when you see an unexplained spike in a seller monthly numbers.

No Charlotte route on the market right now?

Charlotte is a growth market, and growth markets are where placing your own machines is easiest. New retail centers open across the metro continuously and arrive with no ATM and no incumbent. Focus on the eastern and southern corridors rather than uptown, where card usage is high and the placement economics are poor.

We sell the hardware as well as broker the routes. ATM machines for sale has current pricing on 17 Genmega, Hyosung, Triton and Puloon models, and the ATM startup guide walks the whole thing from placement agreement to first vault load.
